CALAX, Connecting Kawit and Binan January 06, 2017

Considered as among the most urbanized and industrialized areas in the country, the provinces of Cavite and Laguna take another step towards progress and development as they lay a new pathway connecting Kawit and Biñan.  The Cavite-Laguna Expressway, otherwise known as CALAX is a proposed expressway that will cross the two provinces situated right in the southern part of Metro-Manila; and serves as an increase in regional competitiveness.

Programmed to start the construction on January 2017 and to be completed until 2020.  This 4-lane 44.20 km. closed expressway will connect CAVITEX in Kawit, Cavite and SLEX in Mamplasan Interchange in Binan, Laguna. A project that will have interchanges in 8 locations namely; Kawit, Open Canal, Governor’s Drive, Aguinaldo Highway, Silang East, Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Rd., Laguna Blvd., and Technopark.

Designed to reduce time travel from CAVITEX to SLEX by about 45 minutes, a vital public-private partnership project that will benefit most of Sta. Lucia’s residential villages located along Aguinaldo Highway and Binan namely; La Praire, The Royal Tagaytay Estates, Sotogrande Tagaytay and Golden Meadow Binan.
