Travelers and motorists from Manila's northern neighborhoods will now be able to reach Tagaytay City and other municipalities more quickly. The Cavite-Laguna-Expressway (CALAX) concession rights holder and operator, MPCALA Holdings, Inc. (MHI), states that on November 8, 2023, at 12:00 AM, vehicles will be allowed to use the Silang-Aguinaldo route subsection.
This CALAX expansion will surely improve the local economy making life easier for our drivers. According to MHI President and General Manager Raul Ignacio, “By providing a quicker and more convenient route to popular destinations in Cavite, we’re creating opportunities for businesses to thrive and for families to make the most of their time together,” Ignacio said.
The CALAX Silang Aguinaldo Interchange, which is an extra 3.9 km that is expected to significantly relieve traffic on Cavite's busiest highway, will provide a quicker route to the newly popular tourist sites of Silang town and Tagaytay City. It is anticipated to serve an extra 5,000 drivers per day, giving them easy access to these lively regions. Additionally, this new subsection is free of charge and will be toll-free until further notice.
By 2024, eight carefully chosen interchanges will be spread across 45 kilometers as part of the ambitious development plan of CALAX, including Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor's Drive, Open Canal, and Kawit Interchange. at the end, CALAX will be smoothly integrated with the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) at Kawit, thereby facilitating vital regional connections. At the moment, its operating segments reach Silang East Interchange from Mamplasan Rotunda.
